Veyla Studios
Independent studio, based in Canada

Small, careful apps for the things that are yours.

Veyla Studios builds reading, writing and organising tools that run on your own device, work with the radio off, and never ask for your data in exchange for the feature you actually wanted.

What we stand for

Six things we will not trade away

Every app we ship is measured against this list. If a feature only works by breaking one of them, we would rather not ship the feature.

Your things stay on your device

Books, notes, journals and files live in ordinary storage on hardware you own. Nothing has to leave the device for the app to do its job.

Accounts only where they earn it

You can read an entire library or keep a year of notes without ever signing in. An account exists for paid plans and for syncing between your own machines. That is the whole list.

No ads, no trackers, no resale

We do not sell advertising, we do not embed analytics kits that follow you around, and we have never sold anyone's data. There is no part of this business that needs us to.

Bring your own cloud

Where syncing helps, it points at storage you already pay for. Your pCloud folder, your Drive, your Proton folder, a directory your own desktop client mirrors. We are not trying to become your host.

Offline is the default

Reading, writing, searching and organising all work with no connection at all, on a plane, in a basement, on a phone that has seen better years.

A real person answers the email

One studio, one inbox. Your bug report goes to the person who wrote the bug, and you will hear back from them rather than from a ticket robot.

How we build

One studio, one way of working

The apps look different because they do different jobs, but underneath they are built the same way, by the same small team, on the same set of rules.

One engine, two screens

Each app keeps its logic in a shared core, so the phone version and the desktop version read the same files and behave the same way. Fix it once, it is fixed everywhere.

Plain files, not lock-in

Your content is stored in formats you can open without us: standard book files, readable JSON, ordinary folders. Export is a feature, not a favour.

Slow, deliberate releases

We would rather ship a feature late than ship it broken. Updates are tested on real devices, and the free tier keeps working after every one of them.

Accessible by default

Adjustable text and spacing, read aloud, high contrast options and generous tap targets are part of the first build, not a later patch.

Honest pricing

The free tier is a real product, not a demo. Paid plans are small yearly amounts that cover the parts that genuinely cost money to run.

Support you can actually reach

One address, checked by the people who build the apps. No phone tree, no chatbot, no account required to ask a question.

Something not working?

Tell us what happened and we will look into it. Bug reports, feature ideas, licence questions and plain confusion are all welcome at the same address.
