Privacy
The short version: your books, notes, journals and files stay on your device, we do not run advertising or analytics, and we have never sold anyone's data.
This page is written in plain language rather than legal language, and it describes how our apps behave today. It is not legal advice. If a specific point matters to you, write in and ask.

Who this covers
Veyla Studios, an independent software studio based in Canada, and the apps we publish: Novellaire, Foliover, Dayloom and Folden, along with this website. Individual apps may publish their own policy with more specific detail. Where they do, that policy governs that app.
What stays on your device
Everything you create or import. Books and reading progress, notes and attachments, journal entries, schedules, reminders, file operations, themes and settings all live in storage on your own phone or computer. We cannot see any of it, and there is no copy on a server of ours by default.
What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers, and no advertising at all.
- No behavioural or usage analytics kits inside the apps.
- No contact list, call log, location or microphone access for tracking purposes.
- No content from your books, notes or journals, ever.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. There is no arrangement under which a third party receives your data in exchange for anything.
The few things we do handle
Accounts, only where a plan needs one
If you buy a paid plan, or turn on syncing between your own devices, the app creates an account tied to an email address. We store that email address, a record of which tier you are on, and when it expires. That is the account. It is not used for marketing, and it is not required to use the app.
Purchases
Payments are processed by the app store you installed from. We never see or store your card details. The store tells us whether a subscription is active, and nothing more.
Crash reports, if you switch them on
Some apps can send a crash report to help us fix a problem. This is off until you turn it on, it says so in Settings, and the report contains technical details about the failure such as the app version, device model and the error itself. It does not contain the content of your books, notes or files.
Email you send us
If you write to support, we keep the message so we can answer it and so we can recognise the same problem when someone else reports it. Nothing else is done with it.
Syncing through your own cloud
Where an app offers syncing, it writes to storage that belongs to you: a folder your own cloud client mirrors, or an account you connect yourself. Your data travels between your device and that provider directly. It does not pass through us, and we have no ability to read it. How that provider handles your files is covered by their own policy, not ours.
Permissions the apps ask for
We ask for the narrowest permission that does the job, at the moment it is needed, and the app explains why. Storage access is used to open the files you point at. Notification access is used for reminders you set. Network access is used for the optional online parts, such as syncing or checking a subscription.
This website
No analytics, no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels. If you choose a light or dark theme, that preference is saved in your own browser and is never transmitted. The site loads two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive the request for those font files. Standard server logs may record page requests for security and reliability.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
- Use the apps without an account, indefinitely.
- Export everything you have created, at any time, from inside the app.
- Turn crash reporting off, or leave it off, which is the default.
- Ask us to delete an account and its record, by writing to the address below.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and say so in the app's release notes. We will not quietly widen what we collect.
